Most department stores and apparel retailers run 10:00 AM through 9:00 PM Monday through Saturday and 11:00 AM through 6:00 PM or 7:00 PM Sunday at most stores. Mall-based stores follow the host mall’s hours (typical 10:00 AM through 9:00 PM weekdays). Standalone off-price chains like Marshalls, TJ Maxx, and Ross often run slightly different hours than mall stores.

Holiday hours expand significantly during the November and December holiday-shopping season, with many chains adding 6:00 AM Black Friday opens and 11:00 PM holiday-week closes. Christmas Day is closed chain-wide. Easter Sunday is typically closed at department stores. Memorial Day, July 4, and Labor Day run regular hours at most apparel chains and are often heavy-traffic sale days.
